Wishing you a wonderful New Year
Nice Story to live our life

The Wisdom Of Sharing Stone Soup
There are many variations on the story of stone soup, but they all involve a traveler coming into a town. The inhabitants try to discourage the traveler from staying, fearing he wants them to give him food. They tell him in no uncertain terms that there's no food anywhere to be found. The traveler explains that he doesn't need any food and that, in fact, he was planning to make a soup to share with all of them. The villagers watch suspiciously as he builds a fire and fills a cauldron with water. With great ceremony, he pulls a stone from a bag, dropping the stone into the pot of water. He sniffs the brew extravagantly and exclaims how delicious stone soup is. As the villagers begin to show interest, he mentions how good the soup would be with just a little cabbage in it. A villager brings out a cabbage to share. This episode repeats itself until the soup has cabbage, carrots, onions, and beets-indeed, a substantial soup that feeds everyone in the village.
This story addresses the human tendency to hoard in times of deprivation. When resources are scarce, we pull back and put all of our energy into self-preservation. We isolate ourselves and shut out others. As the story of stone soup reveals, in doing so, we often deprive ourselves and everyone else of a feast.
This metaphor plays out beyond the realm of food. We hoard ideas, love, and energy, thinking we will be richer if we keep to them to ourselves, when in truth we make the world, and ourselves, poorer whenever we greedily stockpile our reserves. The traveler was able to see that the villagers were holding back, and he had the genius to draw them out and inspire them to give, thus creating a spread that none of them could have created alone.
Are you like one of the villagers, holding back? If you come forward and share your gifts, you will inspire others to do the same. The reward is a banquet that can nourish many.

Come together
This experience, of coming together for a cause, is often life-changing for those who are willing to step into the position of helper or a Savior. We feel as if we are finally doing something really important, and this leads us to feeling more self-actualized.
We feel more connected to the people we are helping, as well as more connected to humanity in general. As we expand beyond the boundaries of our individualistic and take a peek outside our pursuit of happiness, there can be a complete paradigm shift. We often find that it is much easier to be happy as well as make other lives better when we are motivated in an effort to make the world better in tangible ways, by being there for those who are suffering.
Considering the many benefits of this kind of gesture, it is surprising that many of us don't devote our lives or at least some portion of our time (at least on the weekends or once in a month) to serving those in need. We don't have to wait for a tragedy to come together and offer ourselves to the world in service. Sometimes it's easier, of course, to respond to an event that has just happened rather than to ongoing problems like homelessness, poverty, and illness. But the truth of this world is that there is always someone in need of our best efforts to rally a group of helpers and Saviors. Maybe we feel discouraged because these smaller acts and gestures don't generate the same kind of energy and attention from other people as heroic acts in the face of immediate disaster, and perhaps an effort to change this is one way to change the world.
The more we promote, appreciate and inspire humanitarian efforts in the world, the more others will be drawn to this kind of work.
We might pay a little less attention to sports and celebrity gossip and a little more attention to those everyday heroes, SOUL SAVIORS who devote their lives, time, and money to alleviating suffering.

Festival of Lights - victory of good over the evil within an individual

Every Diwali there is a fire cracker bazaar setup where everyone comes from the neighborhood to buy crackers. As there are local children who buy stuff along with their parents, there are some other children who also come to this bazaar. What do they do in this bazaar? THEY BEG. They beg right there in the bazaar from everybody on the occasion which everybody celebrates to “quell the darkness of their lives” festival. All this begging for what – “just to burst a few crackers at the end of the day and to have a feeling that they too belong to this society.”
They are not the only children in this one particular bazaar who beg, there are countless number of such children in our Bengaluru like them.
I always think about their future. I wonder who will light the light of happiness in the life of these kids.
I do not know what they will become when they grow up; will they grow up to be full-time beggars, a criminal, a terrorist, a jailbird, or god alone knows what. Our future depends in some way on the future of these children.
I do not know how much or in what way but I want to change their future, my future, our future, and most definitely the future our Bengaluru. So I think I should start I guess by asking you all to PLEASE HELP THEM.

Face of An Angel
Every time I find myself saying “Thank God that’s not my child”. I am sure most people do this too, but is it enough?
Isn’t there something more we can do? Isn’t there some way we can help? Help get the word out, make others aware of these children.
